Ok, well it's probably smart to have 5 a day of those, too, but that's another matter.
It's really easy to stop marketing once you fill your calendar. Seems smart, right? After all, looking for more would be like loading up another forkful while your mouth is full. Bad manners and kinda piggy.
Or is it?
Well, yes, for food.
But not for your freelance writing business.
Until you get to the point where you're booked solid for the next year or two, you need to market your business daily. You could do it every few days, but I recommend doing it every day you work - otherwise it's all too easy to deceive yourself about how much marketing you've actually done. And a few days can easily become a week.
And the next thing you know, you're lurking on message boards moaning and groaning about how hard it is to find work!
Allena Tapia has a great post about the marketing process.
